The Gaelic expression 'aig fois' (pronounced "ache fawsh")
can be translated as 'in tranquility'.
ig Fois provides a place and a space for people, wherever they are on their spiritual journey, to reflect on their experience and understanding of God and how they might like to respond.
Our regular quiet days offer opportunities to explore prayer in its widest forms. They are guided and provide space for silence.
In collaboration with the Epiphany Group we offer retreats in daily life and longer courses for those wishing to deepen their experience of contemplative prayer. See our programme for the current details.
ig Fois is based on the Christian spirituality of St Ignatius, who taught the art of seeing God in all things. We are affiliated to the Epiphany Group and have close links with the Ignatian Spirituality Centre in Glasgow. We warmly welcome people from all faiths and none.
ig Fois is situated in a private home and garden, with a small prayer room, in the Galloway town of Kirkcudbright on the Solway Firth coast.
"God, the master of time, never gives us the future, only the present, moment by moment."
