The Gaelic expression 'aig fois' (pronounced "ache fawsh")
can be translated as 'in tranquility'.
Welcome
ig Fois provides a place and a space for people, wherever they are on their spiritual journey, to reflect on their experience and understanding of God and how they might like to respond.
Our Quiet Days offer opportunities to explore prayer in its widest forms; this can be through an art activity, going for a reflective walk, in imaginative contemplation using Scripture and other literature, or in quiet contemplation. The days are guided and provide space for silence.
ig Fois is based on the Christian spirituality of St Ignatius, who taught the art of seeing God in all things. We are affiliated to the Epiphany Group and have close links with the Ignatian Spirituality Centre in Glasgow. We warmly welcome people from all faiths and none.
ig Fois is situated in a private home and garden, with a small chapel, in the Galloway town of Kirkcudbright on the Solway Firth coast.
"God really met me where I am at on my journey." (Quiet Day participant)
